Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Personal Cook with light housekeeping responsibilities to support a household with specific dietary needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing minced-texture meals with expertise in Cantonese, French, and other Asian cuisines. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in preparing nourishing, flavorful meals with attention to texture, presentation, and cultural authenticity.
Key Responsibilities:
Cooking Duties:
- Plan and prepare daily meals with a focus on minced or soft-texture foods
- Create menus inspired by Cantonese, French, and other Asian cuisines
- Ensure meals meet dietary requirements for texture, nutrition, and flavor
- Shop for fresh, high-quality ingredients or manage grocery delivery orders
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Handle food storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste
Housekeeping Duties (Light):
- Light cleaning of kitchen and common areas
- Laundry and linen changes (as needed)
- Organizing pantry and kitchen supplies
- Occasional errands related to household needs
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a personal or private cook (experience with elderly or special diets is a plus)
- Proficient in preparing minced, soft-texture, or therapeutic meals
- Deep knowledge of Cantonese, French, and Asian cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
- Ability to plan menus and work independently
- Discreet, respectful, and professional demeanor
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Clear & updated Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last six months)
- CPR and First Aide Training
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekends or flexible hours as required
